Today, August 19, its world's photography day!
And I want to share with you a bit of this passion that is my work and part of my daily routine.
Photography has the power to communicate. To make you smile, to make you sad. To make you see from another perspective, as an invitation for reflection. It spreads information. It opens your eyes, making you see realities you didn’t know before.
Today, I have chosen these pictures that I took in 2018, in Goiás, located in the central west of Brazil. The moment I saw the joy of these kids while they were playing, I decided to play with them, talk to them and take some pictures. They loved it.
This beautiful little girl had so much happiness in her eyes, which gave me such a good feeling inside. She loved to see herself in a picture. I wish every kid had the chance to live in this type of atmosphere, being happy, dreamy and with the desire to fly high. I really believe that if we educate our children in the best way we can, we'll have a better tomorrow. We should teach them to be kind, to have solidarity with everyone, to protect themselves and the planet they live in, to respect every living being.
Besides being my work, photography is also present in my personal life, a way of memorizing incredible moments that I’ve lived so far. One thing that makes me really happy is when I see one of my pictures hanging on someone’s wall. Knowing that they will always feel something looking at it.
Through one picture, we can easily feel "saudade", a Portuguese word that can be translated as if you're missing something or someone your love, like a feeling of nostalgia, or as it was once described as “the love that remains”.
Each one’s vision is unique. No one can steal the view you have. There are rules, but at the same time, there aren't. Photography is also the power of making art and doing something new. Something that is yours.
Congrats to all photographers that collaborate with this industry, that explore the new, that help to transform, that make us feel so many things.
Kisses,
RW
